I decided to become a part of Chihuahua Rescue, USA so that I can do my part in finding these little angels forever homes. We need volunteers and fosters that are willing to help get the Connecticut division of CRU up and running.

If you can no longer keep your chihuahua, please contact us.  Foster homes are available and we never put these little guys into shelters.

Please go to chihuahuarescueusa.org to get more information on our organization. You can also find a volunteer form to fill out and become a part of our effort to ensure every homeless chihuahua gets a loving home!

Meet Moo Moo! She is a wonderful 8lb chihuahua at about 7yrs young :)

Moo was picked up as a stray so we have no history on her except that she definitely had some puppy's in the past. This little gal is the perfect lap dog. She can be nervous at first around strangers but quickly warms up and then wants you to pick her up all the time!

She is housebroken, crate trained and up to date on all shots. She is a low key dog who just loves to be around her person and snuggle. She is good with other dogs but doesn't care much about playing. She is also tolerant of cats as long as they stay out of her face. If you are interested in adopting Moo Moo please go to chihuahuarescueusa.org and fill out an adoption application. She will melt your heart!

 Meet Little Peanut:

cha_chi__little_peanut_005.jpg

Little Peanut was abandoned in a home in Hartford. Thank goodness a neighbor called and she was rescued from a sure death.

She was in horrible condition with obvious neglect. Peanut has been in her foster home a few months now and she is like a new dog. She is very gentle, sweet and laid back. She loves being around her foster mom and makes a wonderful lap dog. Peanut is about 11 years old/8lbs but has many wonderful years ahead of her. She is great with other dogs and cats. Please consider giving an older gal a forever home! She is spayed and up to date on all shots.

Meet Cha Chi:

Poor Cha Chi's owner died and he was dumped in a shelter. Being such a small guy, he was not happy in a big kennel. Thank goodness we stepped in and now he spends his days in a home instead of a concrete kennel.

Cha Chi needs time to warm up to new people and will growl & snap if approached by a stranger. He would do best in a quiet home where someone is looking for a loving companion that will follow them everywhere and keep their lap warm. He loves to be picked up and cuddled once he gets to know you. He is 7 years old and about 7lbs.Cha Chi does have a grade 4 heart murmer but it doen't seem to bother him at all. He is neutered and up to date on all shots.

Meet Chilly!

He is 18 months old (approx), All UTD on his shots, neutered, heartworm negative and on heartgard plus.  He is crate trained and will go into it frequently.  He is not quite house broke (he hasn't pooped in the house) I've taught him to scratch at the door/floor to go out and he is doing fairly good, he does wear a belly band when past the kitchen and boy does he pout when I put it on.  While he is aloof with strangers, and will bark at them, he has a good personality.  He isn't into squeaky toys but LOVES playing tug o war, and fetching when you throw it.  I think he is pretty laid back for an baby.  He is good in the tub at bath time and loves being blow dried and brushed.  He really doesn't like to have his nails trimmed.  He sits on your lap, as most small dogs do, while taking a car ride.  He likes to cuddle under the covers with you.  He likes to take walks and walks nicely.
